The State of Agriculture and Challenges Facing Minnesota Farmers


Charged with the task of being good stewards of land and water while producing food for the world, Minnesota farmers face increasing challenges to maintain their livelihoods and bring their agricultural products to market. From rising and falling crop prices, to new product tariffs, to the application of water protection rules and regulations, Minnesota’s agricultural economy is as challenged today as in previous decades.

Department of Agriculture Commissioner David Frederickson and Senate Agriculture Policy Chair Bill Weber join Capitol Report moderator Shannon Loehrke to explore these issues and assess the state of agriculture in Minnesota.
